Terms outline (draft for solicitor)

Jurisdiction intended: England and Wales. Final wording, cooling-off treatment, and liability caps require solicitor instruction (spend approval needed).

1. Who we are

PlateClear is a trading name for a private registration brokerage operated by Bond's Property Management Limited. Registered office: 34a Gold Street, Northampton NN1 1RS. Company number: 15479032. We broker third-party listings; we do not buy inventory in the MVP without separate approval.

2. What we sell / broker

Rights associated with UK vehicle registration marks (e.g. via V750 / V778 / assignment), not ownership of a “number” as ordinary goods in every sense. Physical acrylic plates are out of scope unless RNPS path is approved later.

3. Consumer Contracts Regulations — 14-day note

Online/distance sales generally require prescribed information and cancellation rights information. Default 14-day cancellation after delivery may apply unless a lawful exception applies. Failure to inform can extend cancellation. A pre-existing registration chosen from stock is not automatically “clearly personalised”. Solicitor must confirm cooling-off treatment before stripping rights in live T&Cs. See GOV.UK distance selling.

4. Goods / services as described

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 theme: descriptions must be accurate (mark, entitlement type, known age restrictions, fees). Remedies for breach to be drafted by solicitor.

5. Age mismatch — no illegal fitment

We do not sell or facilitate assignment that would make a vehicle look newer than it is, contrary to DVLA rules. Buyers must confirm vehicle eligibility. See GOV.UK personalised numbers.

6. Documents & fraud controls

Photo-only V750/V778 images are not accepted as sole proof. Certificate scans are not published. Suspected fraud voids progression pending review.

7. Liability limits (placeholder)

PLACEHOLDER — solicitor to draft. Intended themes only: we do not exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded; consequential loss caps TBD; DVLA processing delays outside our control; maximum liability linked to fees paid TBD.

8. Payments, refunds, chargebacks

Buyer deposits are taken live via Stripe on the PlateClear account. Full Website Terms & Privacy are in solicitor draft and not yet published as binding T&Cs. Refunds and seller payouts require director approval. Chargebacks freeze the deal.

9. No finance

We do not offer credit, 0% finance, or lender introductions in this MVP (FCA perimeter).

10. Next step

Instruct a UK solicitor (consumer + motor trade) to turn this outline into enforceable T&Cs, privacy notice, and pre-contract information. Fee spend requires Antony approval.
